We are proud to announce that Bexley Tigers Basketball Club has been selected by the London Borough of Bexley Council to lead the borough’s Girls Basketball Team for the London Youth Games 2025!
This is an incredible opportunity for our club and for the talented young female players across Bexley. We are honoured to take on this responsibility and look forward to building a strong and competitive team to represent our borough on one of the biggest stages for youth sport in the country.
About the London Youth Games
The London Youth Games is Europe’s largest youth sports festival, offering free competitive opportunities for young people aged 7 to 18 who live or go to school in London. Contesting across more than 30 sports, young athletes represent their home boroughs in a series of competitions held across London’s iconic venues such as the Copper Box Arena, Lord’s Cricket Ground, and Crystal Palace National Sports Centre.
Notable former competitors include Olympic legends such as Mo Farah, Dina Asher-Smith, and Raheem Sterling – all of whom started their journeys at the London Youth Games. The event has a proud tradition of inspiring the next generation of sporting stars.
A Historic Return for Bexley Girls Basketball
Excitingly, this will be the first time in over 10 years that the London Borough of Bexley has entered a Girls Basketball Team into the London Youth Games.
We are thrilled to reignite this opportunity for girls across our borough to showcase their skills, represent their community, and experience the pride of wearing the Team Bexley jersey.
At Bexley Tigers, we believe in creating pathways for young players to thrive both on and off the court. Taking part in the London Youth Games is a unique experience that fosters teamwork, resilience, and a lifelong love of sport.
How to Get Involved
We are holding open trials for girls aged 11 to 16 years old (school year 7 to 11) who either live or study in the London Borough of Bexley.
