Acceptance of any contribution, gift, or grant is at the discretion of Tigers Basketball CIC. Tigers Basketball CIC will not accept any gift unless it can be used or expended in a manner consistent with the organisation’s charitable purpose and mission.
No irrevocable gift, whether given outright or structured as a life-income arrangement, will be accepted if, under any reasonable circumstances, such a gift could jeopardise the donor’s financial security.
Tigers Basketball CIC will refrain from providing advice regarding the tax or other financial treatment of gifts and will encourage donors to seek guidance from their own professional advisers when making a donation.
Tigers Basketball CIC will accept donations of cash and publicly traded securities. Gifts of in-kind services may be accepted at the discretion of Tigers Basketball CIC.
Certain other gifts — including real property, personal property, in-kind gifts, non-liquid securities, and contributions whose sources are not transparent or whose use is restricted — must be reviewed prior to acceptance due to the potential obligations or liabilities they may impose on Tigers Basketball CIC.
Tigers Basketball CIC will provide acknowledgements to donors in accordance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements for property received as a charitable gift. However, except for gifts of cash and publicly traded securities, no monetary value will be assigned to any receipt or other form of gift substantiation issued by Tigers Basketball CIC.
Tigers Basketball CIC will respect the intent of donors regarding gifts for restricted purposes and requests for anonymity. In the case of anonymous gifts, donor information will be limited to staff members who have a legitimate need to know.
Tigers Basketball CIC will not provide compensation, whether by commission, finder’s fee, or any other means, to any third party for directing a gift or donor to the organisation.
