Girls Pathway

Our Little Hoopers program welcomes children aged 3 to 9 years to the exciting world of basketball. It’s a mixed session, thoughtfully designed to cater to the youngest members of our community, regardless of gender. The initiative is driven by our dedicated partners at Little Hoopers, who excel in creating a warm and dynamic environment for early learning.
Emphasising fun and engagement, Little Hoopers incorporates age-suitable equipment, from smaller basketballs to hoops set at just the right height, making every session both accessible and enjoyable. Through this program, children are introduced to the basics of basketball, including essential skills, teamwork, and the importance of fair play, all within a supportive framework that champions their happiness and growth. Our goal transcends basketball training; we aim to foster resilience, joy in movement, and a lifelong passion for staying active in a friendly and inclusive setting.

This program centers around fun and skill development, providing an excellent opportunity for children to forge new friendships, stay active, and master the basics of basketball. Each session aims to enhance fundamental skills like dribbling, shooting, and passing while fostering a spirit of teamwork and fair play.
At the heart of the Community Hub are our supportive coaches, who ensure every child receives the guidance they need to progress as players and enjoy their experience. For any child eager to dip their toes into basketball or looking to refine their skills in a welcoming atmosphere, our Community Hub is the ideal place to learn, grow, and have fun with the sport.

This practical experience is invaluable, offering a real-world application of their training and a taste of competitive play.
The ultimate aim of the Girls Development Hub is to equip young athletes with the skills, knowledge, and confidence they need to progress to National League level. Our dedicated coaches are committed to nurturing each player’s potential, guiding them on their journey from promising talent to seasoned competitor.

2023 MBA Division 1 Championship
Basketball has a very long history in England, being introduced there by YMCA almost immediately after it was invented (having been created by the Canadian Dr. James Naismith in 1891 in Massachusetts). World Wars I and II further spurred its popularity.
The elite league is the fully professional British Basketball League, featuring teams from England and Scotland, while the semi-professional National Basketball League effectively forms the second-tier. There is no promotion and relegation between the two leagues because the BBL operates a franchise system whereby teams have to “buy into” the league.
